Download & Printing Guide for Editable Templates

A Complete Guide to Downloading & Printing Your Custom Designs from Corjl and Canva Template

Whether you’re preparing printable wedding invitations, signage, or thank you cards, this guide provides everything you need to download and print your templates successfully using Corjl and Canva. We’ve also included recommendations for home printing and professional printing options.

Downloading Your Template from Corjl

Once you’ve finished editing your design in Corjl, it’s time to download your file for printing or sharing.

Where to Find the Download Button

In the Design Editor, click the Download button located in the top left corner next to the Save button. This will open the Download Design window with various format and layout options.

File Format Options in Corjl

You can download your design in several file types:

  • PDF – Best for printing at home or professionally

  • JPEG – Ideal for sharing or printing single items like invites or signage

  • PNG – Transparent background files for digital or print use

  • SVG – For use with cutting machines or digital tools
(Note: Available formats may vary depending on the design)

PDF Download Options Explained

  • Paper Size – Choose the size you’ll be printing on (e.g., US Letter, A4). Use Design Default Size if you want the actual design size with no extra margins.

  • Page Numbers – Enter specific pages to download (e.g., 1,3,5 or 2–4). By default, all pages will download.

  • Show Bleed – Turn ON ✅ “Show Bleed”.

    • 👉 What is Bleed? Bleed is a small margin of extra image that goes beyond the edge of your design. It ensures that when your card is printed and trimmed, there won’t be any unexpected white borders around the edges. Usually 0.125 inches (⅛ inch) on each side.

    • Why is it important? Because paper can shift slightly when it’s being cut. Bleed makes sure your design still looks perfect even if the cut is slightly off. Think of bleed like coloring outside the lines on purpose—so the final cut looks just right.
    • Example: Let’s say you’re designing a 5″ x 7″ invitation with a colored background. With bleed, your download file will be 5.25″ x 7.25″. After it’s printed and trimmed, it becomes exactly 5″ x 7″. No white edges, just clean, full-color from corner to corner
  • Show Trim Marks – Turn ON ✅ “Show Trim Marks” (especially if printing at home)

    • ✂️ What are Trim Marks? Trim Marks (also called crop marks) are small guide lines that show the printer exactly where to cut the paper.
These marks won’t appear on your final card — they’re just cutting guides.
If you’re printing at home or taking your file to a professional print shop, trim marks help ensure your design is cut accurately.
  • Multiples Per Page – Places multiple copies of the design on one sheet (great for smaller items like name cards).

  • Tile Different Design Pages – Useful for multi-page designs. Tiles different pages (e.g., table numbers 1–10) on one sheet. Leave OFF if printing the same design repeatedly.

  • PDF Page Background Transparent – Makes the background invisible, showing only your design. Useful if layering onto colored backgrounds.

Printing at Home

Home printing is a great option if you have a reliable printer and quality paper.

Recommended Settings:

  1. File Type: PDF Print

  2. Paper Type: 100–110 lb white cardstock

  3. Paper Size: Match the template size (usually 5″x7″ or 8″x10″)

  4. Settings:

    • Bleed: ON

    • Trim Marks: ON

    • Print Multiples: ON (if applicable)

    • Print Size: “Actual size” (do not scale)

🖨 Tip: Use your printer’s manual feed tray to prevent jamming thicker paper.

Printing Professionally

Local Print Shops & Chain Stores

You can bring your files to local professional printers or popular retail chains such as:

  • Staples

Tip: Always bring your file on a USB drive or email it to the store in advance. Make sure to download your file as a PDF with “bleed” turned ON, and check if they need trim marks.

Online Printing Services

If you prefer the convenience of ordering online, consider uploading your file to one of these trusted websites:

Just download your file in high-resolution PDF or JPG format and upload it during checkout.

🛑 Important Notes:

  • Our templates are NOT compatible with pre-cut card stock (e.g. Avery cards or pre-perforated paper). For best results, use full-page white cardstock and cut the cards after printing.
  • Choose a cardstock weight of 100–110 lb (270–300 gsm) for invitations, signs, or other paper goods to get a sturdy, professional look.
